My passion for environmental stewardship began early, serving as Vice President of the first-ever Arbor Society Club at middle school, where I helped lead tree planting efforts in the community. As an adult, I continued this calling through a reforestation project in Ecuador's Amazon rainforest — experiences that deepened my commitment to creation care and inpired me to pursue a double major in Environmental Science & Geography from San Francisco State University.
Professionally, I began my career as an Urban Forestry Specialist in San Jose, where I personally planted over 200 trees, conducted tree health assessments, and contributed to GIS data entry and mapping of urban foresty. This work supported local drought resilience efforts and promoted the use of native plant species in the community landscape.
Through my academic studies, I gained experiences in soil and watershed assessments, monitoring tree canopy, and analyzing native and invasive plant distributions. In addition, my volunteer service has included water quality studies and broader community outreach projects, reinforcing my commitment to stewardship both in the field and through service.
Alongside my environmental journey, I bring more than seven years of customer service expierence, where I developed strengths in listenting, communication, problem- solving, and adaptability — skills that continue to shape my people-centered appoarch to science and service.
This combination of lifelong passion, leadership, professional fieldwork, academic research , volunteer service, and transferable skills equips me to contribute meaningfully to project in envrionmental science conservation, and sustainability.
